Yes, I did some stupid stuff… I was wearing loafers for one, and they didn’t have good traction. I was trying to get down the tree ornamanets and I was stepping from the ladder (about 9 feet in the air) onto the loft in our garage at a sideways angle (not straight in front of me… DUMB!). My foot lost traction on the ladder and I went down, on top of a cabinet and plastic bins. In the process, I landed on a metal decorative branch that embedded itself about 3-4 inches into my thigh. Yes, very painful but no real blood, surpisingly (dr. said puncture wounds don’t really bleed but they do get infected easily). We ran to the emergency room after I almost passed out. I’m okay, but out of work for a few days in bed. I’m in extreme pain and very sore from the fall, and now we just have to pray it doesn’t get infected or I will be in the hospital with an IV drip… not how I imagine a fun Christmas. I am popping and swapping Motrine and Tylenal every 2 hours and taking antibiotics every 6. I’m actaually thankful it pierced me where it did… four inches lower and it would have gone through my knee and about a foot 1/2 in the other direction and I would have been in serious trouble with a possible pierced internal artery in my back/side… then I would be in the hospital. Ah, the joys of the holidays… no more ladders for me. I cannot get much decorating done for the holidays from bed, which is a bummer, but I am finding ways to fill my time. Just pray I don’t get an infection! And David is giving me the best care available. He helps me care for and dress the wounds when they need changing and the poor boy runs up and down the steps a million times a day to help me go potty or feed me or whatever. He’s a good man and taking very good care of me. I should heal quickly with this expert care!

Worked Saturday morning- we shopped at a liquor store (drank a couple of bottles), book store and watched movies, made finger foods (remember Rye bites) talked, laughed, Kris had to work and Linda and I had my "birthday" dinner early at Bonefish-YUMMY!
I finished up the yearly CD so I could send Kris & Erin theirs back with Kris and save some postage. It was good!

Yes, Erin said that Dad commented to her "So you learned you couldn’t fly?" LOL. I’m glad she is ok.

This weekend I did all kinds of work. Work around the house, freelance work, work on Christmas presents… you name it, I was a busy girl! And topped it all off with Hockey on Sunday, we won 4-1. Still haven’t scored a goal, but I was close a lot this past game!
