I haven’t updated lately, so I though I would post about the recent scare here. There is a man running around attacking women and I haven’t slept in days. He has attacked four women in my town and they have linked him to several in a neighboring town (and this is all within the last month). He is getting in through unlocked windows and doors in the early morning hours between 4-8 a.m. and he is targeting women my age who live alone on ground-floor apartments. I am scared to death, along with all the women in my town. Most of the victims are college girls living in apartment complexes. My friends came over and we installed new locks on my windows that use a key and I have been leaving on porch lights in teh front and back of my house. I have been told I am in the safest building in my complex b/c I am the only building surrounded on all 4 sides my other buildings that face it, but it still worries me. I tried to go out and get window alarms yesterday (they run about $10 a piece and the police say they work great), but everyone here is out of them. Lowes is calling stores in other states to get them in because evey woman in NC is buying these up. For now I think I am okay and I actually did sleep last night, but I think it was because I was exhausted after 2 days of no sleep. For now, I am trying to be aware of my surroundings and really pay attention to my locks.

That’s really scary….they need to catch that guy! He is some kind of a pervert.Just stay protected and try not to worry that much…i’m sure you’ll be fine, but I can understand why you are so worried…I would be to.I agree with aunt kay…keep something in each room to protect yourelf with and carry your cell phone with you everywhere.Stay safe and try to get some sleep!I love and miss you.

Just have a plan- I would put a ball bat next to my bed and put something in every room that you could use to protect yourself. Then get your rest and pay attention. Carry your cell phone with an emergency number programmed in and do the same on your home phone. They will catch this person- the victims are probably not very careful and don’t pay attention.

Worry just uses energy and it’s hard to think well when you are tired. Pay attention, prepare (with your locks) and I’m sure you will be fine. Doesn’t hurt to keep pepper spray next to your bed either!
