This weekend… fun and then…

We went to Buffalo this weekend for Michelle’s wedding. Here’s a picture with her husband, Dane {{popup IMG_026.jpg IMG_026 338×450}}IMG_026. I also got to spend some time with Megan and Chuck {{popup IMG_005.jpg IMG_005 450×338}}IMG_005, some friends from high school. Michelle’s wedding was fabulous and we had a lot of fun.

We were right near Niagra Falls so we stopped and took some photos because I haven’t been since I was 5 years old. I decided to do my hair like Kelsie’s {{popup niagra-falls_080.jpg niagra-falls_080 450×338}}niagra-falls_080 (actually, it was very windy).

And then on the way home, something happened to David’s car. We were right near exit 49 so we immediately got off, paid the toll and pulled over to check it. Right before we came to a complete stop, we hear a “BOOM” and David starting screaming, “GET OUT OF THE CAR! GET OUT OF THE CAR.” Flames 5 feet high came out of the hood. People came running with fire extinguishers. We grabbed what we could in 3 seconds and waited. A trooper pulled up, the fire department came {{popup niagra-falls_089.jpg niagra-falls_089 450×338}}niagra-falls_089, and we sat… scared, but happy to be alive. Here’s what the car looked like after they pried open the hood {{popup niagra-falls_091.jpg niagra-falls_091 450×338}}niagra-falls_091. A tow truck came and took us away {{popup niagra-falls_095.jpg niagra-falls_095 450×338}}niagra-falls_095. I had to sit on David’s lap for the two hour ride to Geneva… not fun. David’s car is dead… here’s what it looks like now niagra-falls_099 (60k image). David just paid $450 last week to have his fuel system fixed. When the fire department got there, they said it had something to do with the fuel line. So needless to say, the place he got the car fixed is about to get an ear full.

David is upset, but we are glad nothing serious happened to us. For now, he’s working on getting another car fixed so he has something to drive. I am just happy we are okay.

Erin won’t admitt it but I thought the ride home was the best part of the trip… Erin sat on my lap and we ate Fried Chicken! What a Country! Of course the saga continues… I’m home right now in stead of work because the car I’m driving now died too. (fuel pump, this is all too familiar) Can’t wait to see what happens next! I’m "going into the wind," just hope it’s takes me someplace different.

You just need to go into the wind- God will take care of the rest!

Ah man…. that sucks! I agree with La- I’d fight the guys. A nd by the way, there’s nothing wrong with having a hair day like Kelsie’s. Every once in a while we all have "glamorous days"- I’m still waiting for mine!

I check with another mechanic to see what should have been done- then go back and tell them you want a refund of $450.00 or you will take them to court!

David talked to the garage and of course there is nothing they can do. They said they didn’t touch anything in the front of the car, only the back. But from what I understand, they are supposed to bleed the line and check it. They won’t do anything to compensate him and the insurance doesn’t cover this sort of thing for what he had in Puerto Rico.

When it rains it pours but there is always a rainbow! Thank God you are OK. Glad you are fine, had fun and I’d be bringing charges against the car repair place.
