Family News

Clyde-Savannah used a stifling interior defense that held their opponent to 18% shooting and an impressive transition game to roll over Kendall, 72-28, to claim the Class C3 championship. It was never a contest with the Golden Eagles opening up a 34-14 halftime lead and extending that lead to 50-22 at the end of the third. C-S shot 50% on the game knocking down wide open jump shots and finishing several times uncontested at the rim.

C-S big man Joemaine Bogan was dominant notching 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. He also brought the early arriving Blue Cross Arena to their feet with a two-handed slam dunk on a breakaway in the third quarter.

Junior forward Kam DiSanto was active all game and finished with 11 points and nine rebounds. DiSanto was also a factor in the paint sparking several Clyde fast breaks with his disruptive defense.

Joe Faniel also scored 11 as Clyde captures their first Sectional Championship since 2000 and their ninth in school history.

Clyde-Savannah is now 19-2 on the season and will face Mynderse Academy (Class C1 Champions) in the Class C Qualifier play-in game on Monday. If they should win, they would face their fellow Wayne County League co-champ, Lyons in the Class C State Qualifier game on Wednesday.

Clyde-Savannah Senior Tom Kanaley was named Tournament MVP despite missing the entire second half of the contest with a knee injury. Kam DiSanto and Joemaine Bogans were named to the Class C3 all-tournament team.

Clyde Savannah won 72-28 against Kendall. Will play one of the winners of Class C-1 (Avon or Mynderse) or C-2 (York or Lyons) next week at State.

Kameron (who played sick) was chosen for the tournament team. (Players with medals). Great job Kameron!
