Sitting in the dark

We got a pretty good wind storm last night that knocked out our power. I didn’t think it would be a big deal. I thought to myself, “Oh, they’ll have it back on in a few hours.” Well, a few hours passed and still no power. Okay, no big deal… David can call and wake me up in the morning and we can go a day or two without a shower. Well, except David didn’t wake me up. But then I thought… Okay, I have flashlights and candles, the toilet flushes, and gas heat/stove. But apparently, you need some form of electricity to trip the heat and the stove. Okay, we can deal with this. The weather has been in the high 70s… no big deal, I don’t need heat. Oh, but the weather now has dropped into the 40s and will stay there at least through tomorrow.

So I guess it is back to basics until power comes back (which hasn’t happened yet). Sometimes I just love God’s humor…

I just found out that the wind was so strong that apparently it even spun around one of the news guys’ cars in the middle of the street!!!

They must know because my entire complex is out. The office surely called because their ofice is right in the complex too. Crews are all over town trying to get power back… many stoplights toward downtown W-S are out and they already had crews on them.

That which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger- or so they say. Sometimes we have to go to the basics- I have a roof over my head and blankets which is really hard when you are cold. I’ll say a prayer- are you sure they know you are without power?
