Remember Great Grandma Heald…

She was an interesting character…every year she would knit us hats, slippers and things and wrap them in very shiny paper. We all loved them (even if they were lopsided). Well, it seems we may get a reminder of those days. Erin has taken to knitting slippers…

I want a pair. (size 9 and same color as your in the picture) My feet are perpetually cold. I wear socks to bed so slippers that fit snug would be great. I loved Grandma Heald’s knitted presents. Mittens, scarf, hat or slippers. (Slippers were my favorite.) When they came, hers were the ones we would peek at. One year she did not have tape and used straight pins to close the paper shut. (Easy to peak that year!) You are such a talented woman. I love you so much. And I LOVE the gloves you made me. They are funky and fun. Can’t wait to get them!

We all wanted to peek at the gifts and if I recall, the slippers where daddy’s favorites of all. We had some cool hats but she just made you feel good because she never forgot and you felt special because of her.

Grandma would start knitting right after Xmas for the following year. She made something for every child, grandchild, and great grandchild, They numbered in the 70s. She would knit something even if she never saw the child. That is quite a challenge to follow. You go, Erin! If you ever want to follow in someones footsteps, hers are some of the best. Love, Nana We got your thankyou card, It was wonderful and you are always so good about sending them out. Thank you for your gifts too. The candles are on my tv armoire in the family room and I can look at them all the time and seeing all my beautiful grandchildren is one of my greatest happiness. Love, Nana

Give me shoe sizes and that can be arranged! I love mine! They are so warm and comfy and not hard to make, or too expensive. Maybe I can make them for Christmas next year or birthday presents or something. Let me know colors too b/c the possibilities are endless! They are felted, which means they are made of wool and were a little snug after I took them out of the wash, but after wearing a few times, they fit perfect!
