Thought I’d send out some early reminders…
November 6-Darian is now a teen-ager at 13!
November 8- Mary Steve (Dolly) who will be 91!
Don’t forget to send lots of love and kisses!
Aunt Sushi had asked me when I was home for Kay’s shower if I was planning on adding some more recipes to our cookbook. I have lots I can give, but I thought I would ask you all to send me ones that you may have found lately that are good. I can type them all the same way I did the others and I’ll give them to everyone.
I guess a cook’s job is never finished… let’s keep on cookin!
Oh, here’s a quote I adapted that I like: “When life throws you a tomato, make tomato sauce!” I think it better suites our family than the lemon one.
I wanted to let you guys know that I was cruising through AC Moore (only the very coolest craft store around–my mom can vauge for this one), and what did my wondering ears hear? “I’m Just a Love Machine!” I thought of Buffet the whole time I was singing it! I haven’t heard that song in a long time!
Love you all…
Please note we have some new quotes by way of Kay C, new pictures (always nice to see everyone, including the 4 legged type) and would love new pictures or quotes from everyone. I know everyone is busy but with the Holidays coming up lets make sure we don’t lose sight of what’s important and stay in touch. This is really important for folks far away (I feel you pain Erin- it’s hard to be away). This is also a great way to share ideas for Christmas as I know several people are looking for suggestions and just to find out how people are doing (Susie- how is school?)
Well I’ve talked to a few people who like the “theme” idea so I’m confused. Looking for a yes or no on theme idea- the songs I received I thought were good but missing lots of people (need kids and hubbies). How about a favorite Christmas song- is that better. Let me know- just go to comments and respond.
Well – many don’t get it and others don’t respond so I’m giving up on the theme song. No biggie! My presents are wrapped and will be delivered Friday to Mom & Dad (do you know how good that feels- Christmas done by October).
I know it’s been a while since I’ve written, but I have been so busy…. I’m trying to prove that I’m worth the value of my job cap so that by the 1st of the year or by Feb. 18 (my one-year mark), they might bump me up! I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Will somebody come visit me? I’m really lonely riMight now! Mom?? Beth?? Anybody??
Miss and love you all!
The villager went to the rabbi to complain about his cramped house. It felt old and stuffy, and when he was inside it, he felt stifled by the atmosphere. The rabbi had some advice. Buy a chicken and put in near the fireplace.
“Though not the master of one’s fate, one may still be captain of one’s soul.”
You’ll probably learn… that no matter what happens, or how bad
it seems today, life does go on, and it will likely get better tomorrow.
You’ll probably learn… that you can tell a lot about yourself by the
way you confront a rainy day, lost luggage, elderly drivers, tangled
Christmas tree lights, and other assorted inconvenient events,
and things, that will cross your path at times.
You’ll probably learn… that regardless of your relationship with your
parents, you’ll miss them when they’re gone from your life.
You’ll probably learn… that making a “living” is not the same as
making a “life.”
You’ll probably learn… that life sometimes gives you a second
chance, and often a third.
You’ll probably learn… that if you pursue happiness, it will elude
you. But if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of
others, your work, and doing the best you can, happiness will
You’ll probably learn… that whenever you decide something with
an open heart, you’ll usually make the right decision.
You’ll probably learn… that even when you have pains, you don’t
have to be one.
You’ll probably learn… that every day is a better one when you
reach out and (literally) touch someone. People love human touch…
holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly touch of an arm, or a
pat on the back.
You’ll probably learn… that people will forget what you say, they will
forget what you do, but they will never forget how you made them feel.
