Yesterday was National Pizza Day, so I decided to make pizza from scratch… except I’ve never liked making dough. All that kneading gets on my nerves. But did you know that bread machines have dough settings and you can use them to do the hard part for you? YES! It worked wonderfully! The dough was perfect! Just be sure to set aside enough time because it took an hour-and-a-half just to make the dough.
I used the recipe below for Mellow Mushroom’s Copycat dough (which is in our family cookbook under breads), along with my canned pizza sauce from this summer, grated mozzarella, Italian Herb Mix from Penzey’s Spices, fresh mushrooms for me and pepperoni for my friend. It was the best pizza EVER and I wanted to share! I’m now in love with my bread machine.
