Looks like I’m moving soon

They just announced the location of the Alcan plant that I will be working for soon–Reidsville, which is much further away than anticipated. I spoke with th HR lady and I will be moved to a temporary location while they build our new plant in a few weeks. I will have to leave Winston or drive 45 minutes a day with very high gas prices… not very tempting.

It may work to mine and David’s advantage because it puts us VERY close to Durham (so Kay, com’on down!). There is a bose store in Durham so we could commute both ways. I have not talked with David yet, but he was planning to move down here this fall regardless of whether he is with Bose or not. I feel like I am starting all over again because I do not know the area. I will have to give up my part-time job which sorta depresses me.

I have posted a map below for people to see (sometimes it helps). I am in Winston-Salem, moving near Reidsville (north-east), and Kris is even further down i-85 past Salisbury, so now I will be really far away from her, which REALLY depresses me. And here’s the news release.

Erin- Today Forbes published there listing of the best cities to live in if you are single and Raleigh was on the top of the list. Consider it another opportunity and look for the best. Change is good- it is just a pain to move, but you will find other things you love. I think Bob’s cousin Marnie is moving there too- if she does, I’ll hook you up- she stays at home with her 2 daughters and Chris is a doctor- but they are a blast.

You can move in between where you and David will be and both have a short drive. Wait til you go there and see the different towns you can go to. You might like it better. You have said your area where you live has had some problems. Think of the fun in decorating another place!! Kimmy will love it!! Love Nana

Uggh! It just dawned on me! What will I do without 4 Starbucks stores, each under 5 miles from my house? Oh no! I will search high and low for one, even if I have to make special trips on Sundays… although, I guess that’s why I bought the silly espresso machine in the first place (which happily makes 2-3 lattes a week… YUM). I also had to research Whole Foods Market, which there are several close to the Durham area. It just stinks because I will have to drive a ways to get there.

Moving is a pain in the ass, but you can always do it if you are not happy. There could be some really great things nearby! Any new scrapbooking stores nearby?
