Hard to be a Catholic these days…

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone said ,“A lot of novels do good but this book (The DaVinci Code) is rotten food … it does harm, not good. This book is a sack full of lies against the Church, against the real history of Christianity and against Christ himself.” Speaking as one of the Church’s top theologians, he said the book sows doubts and dangerous confusion among the faithful.

John Paul labels homosexuality an “ideology of evil,” saying when discussing gay marriage that, “It is legitimate and necessary to ask oneself if this is not perhaps part of a new ideology of evil, perhaps more insidious and hidden, which attempts to pit human rights against the family and against man.”
Thus, in addition to labeling homosexuality as “objectively disordered,” the pope also regards agitating for the right of gays to marry as an “ideology of evil” that threatens the very fabric of society.

Now…isn’t faith belief despite what your read. After all it was a fiction book. I love when holy figures take it upon themselves to spout out these statements that are hateful and hurtful and maybe that is why people are leaving the church.

Is “Love one another” so hard to understand?
