Rachel and her 2 (Tommy & Maddox), Lauren and her son Colby & Mandy and her 2 (Taylor & Andrew) came today for a Grinch Party.
Tommy and I attempted to make cookies (they were finished at home with mommy) but we had Green punch (kids liked the water better), green popcorn, green cheese puffs, Rice Krispie treats, Funeral sandwiches, Fiesta Corn Salsa, Guacamole, rye boat dip & Sangria for the adults!
FIESTA CORN SALSA
3 cans Fiesta Corn or Mexi Corn, drained
3/4 cup Mayonnaise (regular or light)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (use finely shredded)
1 cup Sour Cream (regular or light)
1 small bunch Green Onions, chopped (approximately 1/2 cup)
½ package Fiesta Ranch dip
This is so good!
Dinner rolls- I used King’s Hawaiian rolls
Black Forest Ham
Slice rolls, if needed. Squeeze rolls on an sheet pan (it’s okay if they are touching). Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese on the bottom half of each roll, then replace tops.
Sauce of yumminess:
1 cube butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbs. Dijon mustard
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbs. poppy seeds (I used slightly less – they are mostly for aesthetics, I think)
1 tsp. onion powder
Mix together with a small whisk. Brush tops of ham and cheese rolls liberally with sauce, then pour remaining sauce over all. Cover pan with foil and refrigerate for 4 to 24 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake rolls, covered, for 10 minutes, then remove foil and bake another 10 to 15 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
I spread mine inside and cooked right away- they were still yummy!
Add lemon lime soda to lime green sherbert which will provide the coloring as it begins to melt. That’s how simple it is to make Grinch punch.
Green Popcorn/white cheese puff
Take 1 ¼ cup white chocolate bark- melt, add green food coloring, pour over popcorn/puffs- the dry and enjoy! The ate all the cheese puffs during the movie.
