Class Act: C-C second grader takes on Toys for Tots project
Delaney Carroll is 7 years old, in second grade at Churchville-Chili Central School District and lives with her mom and dad.
What activity or project have you tackled that has been the most challenging and rewarding?
One of the most rewarding activities I was involved in was Toys for Tots.
How did you get involved with that?
In kindergarten, I made a picture showing what Toys for Tots meant to me.
What makes it rewarding?
Because I got to help pick out toys for other kids to make their Christmas special. I loved doing it because it made me feel really good to help someone at Christmastime.
Who has most inspired you to be the person you are today?
Mom and dad.
How do you balance all your time commitments?
I plan ahead, and make sure I know what has to get done and when and where I have to be.
If you could choose any career in the world, what would you be?
I would like to be a dentist.
What’s on your iPod?
Grease 2, Momma Mia and my songs for dance class.
What do you do for fun?
Play with my friends, hang out with mom and dad, play games and sports, sing and dance.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
What’s your favorite food?
Macaroni and cheese.
What’s your best advice for other students your age?
Never give up, keep going. Do your best. Do the right thing. Create a great day!
Advice we could all live by! Way to go Delaney!
