CLYDE — The Clyde-Savannah football team made an adjustment to its offense during the offseason, moving talented wide receiver Joe Faniel into the quarterback position.

Faniel looked more than comfortable in his debut under center Friday. The senior ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more as the Golden Eagles topped Marcus Whitman 28-17 in a Finger Lakes West contest.

Faniel rushed 13 times for 125 yards and scored on runs of 12 and 31 yards. He also tossed a pair of touchdown passes (38 and 6 yards) to Kam DiSanto.

Alex Schrader led the Clyde-Savannah defense with a pair of interceptions.
