End of summer vacation!

shift (11k image)

Well today is it…my summer is over and I start back to school tomorrow. The only thing that bothers me about this concept is getting up early since I didn’t all summer long and I am NOT a morning person. I also didn’t get all my projects done (not that they are going anywhere or will ever be all done). Now I have new projects with my kids which I do enjoy. Just a shift…

It continues to be hot & dry (THE KANSAS CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT RECEIVED ONLY 0.12 OF AN INCH OF RAIN FOR JULY. THIS IS THE DRIEST JULY EVER RECORDED IN KANSAS CITY.IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS…THE PERIOD FROM AUGUST 1ST 2002 THROUGH JULY 31ST 2003…THERE HAS BEEN JUST 23.30 INCHES OF PECIPITATION. THIS IS 14.68 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 37.98 INCHES FOR THE SAME PERIOD.) This prevents several projects from getting done as it it to hot to go outside and clean the barn or paint the garage or build a deck or dig a trench around the barn (can’t dig in the ground anyway- it’s like cement and has 3-4 inch cracks it is so dry). Please pray for rain!

Well- we get just the right amount of rain. My lawn is growing beautifully. Almost have all the spots filled in where we put in the sprinkler system. But I will get Delaney and we will do our version of a rain dance for you. We are going to have a glorious week this week in the 80’s. Great weather to go watch a little golf and take Delaney swimming!! Stay Cool Dude.

You can have some of our rain!!! I am in the Carolinas and should not have seen more rain than in NY, but we have! The news said we had 18 days of rain in June, 18 days of rain in July, and so far it has rained every day in August! Just as you cannot get work done because of the heat and dryness, they cannot get any work down here because of all the rain. They are in the process of building a new entrance to our apartment complex and it should have been done ages ago, but because of the rain they cannot do any ground work. It stinks… I will pray that our rain travels to you… Good luck!
