I tried this for the first time tonight (Kay your recipe worked great!) Linda and I joined our local Growers’ Alliance Community Supported Agricultural Program. Each week we go and pay $25.00 for $30-$35 dollars worth of fresh, locally grown produce, milk, eggs, meat, herbs… today we got an eggplant hence the dish. There was no bitterness and was very yummy. I also made a zucchini casserole because last week we got 5 zucchini and I did not get through them all. We also got heirloom tomatoes, onions, pepper relish, this week hot dogs (last week steaks which were SO tender)corn on the cob and home made hand lotion. It has definitely helped us eat more vegetables and ones we may not have eaten before.
When we joined the program we got a cookbook, two canvas bags to carry the groceries (instead of paper or plastic) a tee shirt and our annual membership. It has been fun.
