Funeral services for James L. “Leo” Anders, 60, of Colona, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis.
Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a liturgy service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the church.
Mr. Anders died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Leo was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Moline, the son of James and Esther Woerly Anders. He married Marianne (Heald) Lage Nov. 9, 1990, in Rock Island.
He had served in the U.S. National Guard. He had been a supervisor at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, where he retired after 30 years of service. Leo had also been a substitute teacher in the local schools for many years. He had been an avid golfer and had been a member of Valley View Country Club, Cambridge. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were the most important thing in “his world.”
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Rich Mack, Orion, Mary and Brandon Taets, Orion; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Julie Lage, Orion, Sam and Tammy Lage, Moline; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Esther Anders, East Moline; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Arvid Jones, Geneseo; nephew, B.J. Jones, Geneseo. He was preceded in death by his father; the love of his life, his wife, Marianne; and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Mack.
