Christmas decorations…

hearth (121k image)

Gary & Gerry took Linda & I to a friends house to see her decorations. The pictures do not do it justice- it was wonderful. The tree to the right was 20 foot tall.

She has each room with a theme-
{{popup redroom.gif redroom 450×299}}The red room
{{popup redtree.gif redtree 450×599}}The red tree
{{popup upsidedowntree.gif upsidedowntree 450×678}}The upside down tree which was in the room with the hearts (see below).
There was a purple room and a Jesus birthday room (multicolored like a birthday party).
The main room was very country (red, white and blue). Here is a {{popup basket.gif basket 450×678}}basket on the hearth.
In the kitchen was a {{popup hutch.gif hutch 450×299}}hutch and the {{popup kitchencounter.gif kitchencounter 450×299}}kitchen counter. She had every table, window decorated but just too much to show off. It truly was beautiful.

She hung a lot of things from the ceiling like-
{{popup abovebed.gif abovebed 450×299}}Hearts above the bed
{{popup abovefrontdoor.gif abovefrontdoor 450×299}}A sleigh above the front door
{{popup abovewindow.gif abovewindow 450×299}}A rack above the kitchen window
{{popup abovewindow2.gif abovewindow2 450×299}}An old window above a house window
{{popup abovetub.gif abovetub 450×299}}Above the tub.

And while we toured the home the owner gave us a glass of wine called {{popup wine.gif wine 197×263}}Marco Negri. It tastes a lot like Asti (which I like).

We had a great time- Cheryl Lynn gets a lot of her ideas from Nell Hill’s. I hope you enjoy!

You see them all the time here- upside down tree (they are made that way) for different spaces and many stores keep them up all year and decorate them for other seasons. Why do we need or want anything? I like them- they fit well in corners and cover a large space.

May i ask a stupid question? Why would you want an upside down tree? Is it for laughs? Strange concept although… a store in Eastview once used a small upside down tree over a table with lights as a chandelier and i raved over it!

Kay, you never told me you had an old sled!!! I think we will use it next year on that merchandising space above the door unless Bob wants to climb up there and prop it! It will look cute! Props people…it’s all about props!

Oh, it just hit me! She used all her patriotic stuff in one room. Mom, you can use this idea. Do each room for one holiday and then you never have to take it down. You can have the Easter room, the patriotic room, the birthday room… Think about it. Less stress than to redecorate every holiday. Okay, only kidding… thought I’d help you display all your stuff. Are you sure? You could have a dollar deal room? No? Okay, I’ll stop now. Love you 😉

Yes, it’s a lot. Hey mom… maybe if you started hanging all your stuff above the doors, you could use everything you have in one year? Yeah? No? Okay, just thought I would throw that out at cha. I too liked the idea of the sleigh or the window used as a shelf above the door/window. And those jars with the marshmallows are too cute! A lot of stuff, but a lot of ideas too. The red tree was interesting. I like how she named the rooms and decorated to go with them…

A little much, but some good ideas. I liked the window hung above the window. Clever. She does like the holidays! Does she have someone come in and do this or do it herself. Does she start in August?

I definitely think it is too much for me!! I did catch the marshmallows- but I really liked the sleigh above the door!! I have Bob’s old sleigh out in the garage and I’m really disappointed that Farley didn’t come up with that idea for my window over the front door- maybe next year!! Just bustin’ you Farley- my neighbors were cracking up that you were still decorating my house the other night at Delaney’s party!!

She gave one to the boys- they are cute. It appears too much but when you are in the home- it works. Too much for me though.I just like to see the different thought processes different people use to decorate.
