In August I updated our web page and renewed till 2020. ($350.00) I wasn’t going to ask for donations but with Bear’s recent medical expenses and mine- any donations to the cause are welcome. Give what you can…$10, $25.00 it helps. I know it doesn’t always seem like people are on there but I know people read it daily and it is a great place to know about family events and watch our babies grow and achieve so much, see Baptisms and Weddings and Farley’s decorations, wicked witch balls and holidays and everyday, ordinary events (Silvie’s smiles).  All can post and share and we love to hear about what is going on.

I change the server and combined The DiSanto and BrickOven to the same hosting site. I am trying to rebuild them. It’s a process- one I do not know- be patient why I work on it!

Sorry for the delay and downed site- I found out I could combine BrickOven and The DiSanto site on one hosting and just pay the name each year (1/2 the savings) so the BrickOven was due so I made the change. Also- the server for The DiSanto’s was on an old server and there were some problems with updates. This meant both sites had to move to the new one. A great guy (his name was Nick) help me move both sites. The DiSanto’s would not move and he had to manual move it which took awhile- then he connected everything, redirected everything, got me a refund and we are up and running.

I did extend both sites to 2020…we are good to go!

I have added a new plug-in for a video player- please try Silvie Crawling again and let me know if this works. Thanks

I am going to change a day and add Sunday as Spiritual Wellness. I have concentrated on fitness but neglect the mind/soul which I believe is also very necessary. I will also have Thursday’s Tips on Health & Wellness be on Mental/Emotional Health- then we cover the whole person-physical, mental/emotional and spiritual.

Spiritual Wellness is a personal matter involving values and beliefs that provide a purpose in our lives. While different individuals may have different views of what spiritualism is, it is generally considered to be the search for meaning and purpose in human existence, leading one to strive for a state of harmony with oneself and others while working to balance inner needs with the rest of the world. The National Wellness Institute says spiritual wellness follows the following tenets:
* It is better to ponder the meaning of life for ourselves and to be tolerant of the beliefs of others than to close our minds and become intolerant.
* It is better to live each day in a way that is consistent with our values and beliefs than to do otherwise and feel untrue to ourselves.

Reaching Spiritual Wellness
It is important for everyone to explore what they believe is their own sense of meaning and purpose.

The path to spiritual wellness may involve meditation, prayer, affirmations, or specific spiritual practices that support your connection to a higher power or belief system. Yoga and meditation can also help you develop spiritual wellness.

Having compassion, the capacity for love and forgiveness, altruism, joy, and fulfillment help you enjoy your spiritual health. Your religious faith, values, beliefs, principles, and morals define your spirituality.

If you are a person engaged in the process of spiritual wellness, you are willing and able to transcend yourself in order to question the meaning and purpose in your life and the lives of others. In addition, you seek to find harmony between that which lies within and the social and physical forces that come from outside.

Are you engaged in the process of spiritual wellness?
Evaluate your own spiritual wellness with this brief quiz.
Do I make time for relaxation in my day?
Do I make time for meditation and/or prayer?
Do my values guide my decisions and actions?
Am I accepting of the views of others?

If you took pictures this past week- please send to Karen via flash drive, dropbox, disk…I would like to create a keepsake book for Silvie. Thanks!

Also- Go Daddy has informed me that I need to change my site- I am on a very old server and need to switch to a newer server (been having some troubles lately). Since I have to transfer the site, I thought it might be the time to change things. If there is something you would like to see, please let me know. I hope to update some photos and add some creative features.

Also- remember… you all can post. Most have a password- if you forgot I will be happy to reset it, if you need one- I will give you one. Lala can only post information she receives or knows (failed mind reading in college- me bad) but this is the place to share news with the family.

Disclaimer: I hope this is a happy place. I know we occasionally report sad news (deaths, sicknesses) but I will delete any negative rants.

Web site

I didn’t receive any feedback on webpage and I get that money is tight in today’s economy and that people are busy and don’t get on so it begs the question- why continue. It was fun but there are times to move on.

Until the next adventure…

Edited: Did not realize people were still reading it! Seemed abandoned… If we want to keep it- the bill is $200.00 due first of June. This is for 2 years, any donations would be greatly appreciated- just send what you can- $5-10 help a lot too! Give up 1 cup of coffee to read the web page for a year- also saves on cards as many of us use the page to wish others happy birthday, anniversary and what not.

A couple days ago, Bob let me know that he could not view comments on the web page- after looking into it we discovered it had to do with Internet Explorer reading the css code. I tried to find a way to fix it through the templates but had to change themes so we have a new look. If you use FireFox,  (like Erin and I do) there wasn’t an error on the page (try it out- so much better than IE). Thanks Bob for the “heads up” and thanks to everyone for being patient.

New pictures on the sidebar- includes 4 legged family members as well!

Web site

We have set up the FlickR posting so that everyone can upload pictures there and blog them to our Family page. You must log in with the flickr username and password (ask Lala or Erin) and then search through the photos. When you find one you like and wish to use on top of your post, click the little button on top of the image that says “Blog This” and you will be able to compose a message. Just click “Post Entry” and it shoudl add it to our site. Wha-la!

If you see this- as of 11:30 pm- the comments are not working- waiting for Go Daddy to make a change to our account. We hope to have this up and running very shortly!

It’s that time when we change things up on the blog page! The main reason is I have been getting lots of spam- people posting under comments all kinds of stuff that shouldn’t be there. With the new program- I control who posts and rid our site of unwanted garbage. Second- we need something new to invigorate us into using this more- nice clean style but it has features that many will find more user friendly- you can post directly from flicker pictures on the blog, you can post from your phone (for those who know how to do that stuff!). I think this will help many people post easier.
First thing- figure out how to load it and convert our data- guess who is doing most of that- YES…Erin Marie. When we get it figured out- we will have several posts to help you post things up- not sure if passwords will work but I’ll work it out even if I have to call each and everyone of you!

A lot of people are dishonest, hurtful and can’t be trusted. As proof in this ad- several companies took our cookbook off our page and they are selling it. That means those people go to our site- what else can they steal? So I took down birthdays as I do not want people to have that information. I know it makes it a little more boring but I think it is safer. Makes you wonder if you should be doing this at all?
Edited:Link back up and password protected. All sites I found have been removed from the web- think the threat of legal action for stealing might have worked. I’m sure it’s still out there but good lesson for all of us. Erin- can you password protect Kris’s fitness book?

If you want to see info/pictures about/on your family, kids, pets- you either have to post or send me info. Many people not on here lately and we want to know “WHAT’S UP?”
Edited:Thanks to those who send info and pictures- we all love to see the kids and know what’s happening in their lives.
