Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
The September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance is the culmination of efforts originally launched in 2002 by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGoodDeed with wide support by the 9/11 community and leading national service organizations. This effort first established the inspiring tradition of engaging in charitable service on 9/11 as an annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.
Gone yet not forgetten, although we are apart, your spirit lives within me, forever in my heart. We love you Matthew!
Some of you may remember my friend Francie (now goes by Jai)- she came to Kenny & Sue’s wedding, went bowling with us, fell and then swam down the aisle…Uncle Jim loved her.
I went to school with her in Oklahoma, we were friends in Kansas City and then she moved to New Mexico and finally Portland, Oregan. She visited me a few years back, we stayed in touch- she got skin cancer. She has been fighting this for over 5 years and Monday lost that fight. She was crazy and walked to the beat of her own drum (as an Indian, she would love this metaphor!)
So at age 57 (March 1, 1956), she joined the spirits and she can now rest in peace.
National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, which is annually on December 7, commemorates the attack on Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii, during World War II. Many American service men and women lost their lives or were injured on December 7, 1941. National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is also referred to as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day or Pearl Harbor Day.
“ I loved the boy with the utmost love of which my soul is capable; and he is taken from me—yet in the agony of my spirit in surrendering such a treasure I feel a thousand times richer than if I had never possessed it.”
– William Wordsworth
Please remember the Carroll family on this day and our beloved boy Matthew.
Just wanted to let you know that Buffett’s brother Kodi passed away yesterday. It was Jerry’s birthday so we called to wish him a happy birthday only to find out that Kodi had died. What a horrible way to spend your birthday. We are sad but know that he is not suffering anymore. We are also glad that we got to see him this last weekend, even if it meant Delaney was bit by the dog. She is doing great now and is also sad because Kodi is gone. Not really ready to go through this.
Our hearts go out to Jerry and Deb as he was a big part of their lives and they are really struggling with the loss.
Buffy has not eaten at all today and has been really sad- could she possible know that he is gone? Here is a photo of our sweet Kodi from his birthday this year.
