We are doing a scrapbook for our principal as a going away gift- I had the Peace Festival. Here is the page I did (picture not the best).

“A moment lasts all of that second, but the memory lives on forever.”

Yes Kay, you have it in you and with a subject like Delaney- you can’t go wrong!

Now that she will be working at a scrapbook store- I think we will see many new layouts by Erin.

After burning out on scrapbooking, I finally got back into it… here’s the latest.

“It couldn’t have happened anywhere but in little old New York.”

Well I think one of the biggest hits was the scrapbook of New York City-WOW!
I have added a link on the side so you can look at it any time.
Thank you so much mom and dad for making this trip happen.
Thank you women (and Kameron) for going and making memories.
Thank you Erin for your talent and time to make this keepsake.
Thank you God for this family!

I just wanted to add a big thank you to Erin Marie for doing most of the scrapbook for Nana & Poppy. Most don’t know how much time and money go into these projects and she took it on. Then to go the extra mile- she wanted each family to have a book as well. That included buying the scrapbook, a punch and printing 53 pictures which cost about $50.00 a book. So don’t forget to give a very big thank you to Erin for making the memory of New York last for each of us. I know I loved it and appreciate it more than I could ever say.

Well I went to a crop Friday night and made these two pages (Kameron- yours is almost done- had to rework my design). I want to make a page for each of Kelsie’s names- I have “Crazy Hair” and “Peanuts”- next might be “Bibbie”

This was a premade page- I just had to throw on 4 photos- nice part- if you don’t like the photos, you just switch them out.

I found this page on Erin’s site and it was too cute not to share. Here is the 2003 birthday party Erin and Kris shared for their June 7 birthday. Alot of other family faces here- love it!

Since I am coming home Thursday, I finished up a page for each of the young kids’ scrapbooks. I know Lala has been anxious for me to share so here they are.

This came out so great! I have been dying to do these pics of Kam from a few years back. I hope he likes it!

This one is much better looking in person. The pink is inked all the way around the edge and you can see it much better… it’s practically non-existant on this smaller image. It also cut me “e” off a little. Oops.

And this one came out so great too! There is a little library pocket in the front where a little 4-page book lies with some pictures of Delaney at that year’s Christmas.

And I redid and finished the front page of Matthew’s book. {{popup matthew-front-500.jpg matthew-front-500 500×489}}Here it is for those who want to peek. Kay, double check that I got the info correct this time so I can fix (if needed) before I come home. I am also bringing home a magnetic snap to fix his little folder. Kay, we’ll have to get together at a time that is convenient for you or maybe you can bring his book to one of the events planned. We’ll get it finished for you and Bob.

From the happy scrapper… I’ll post more as they come!

Here is a layout for Matthew’s scrapbook. It is a star theme. The 3 pictures have there own quotes.
The first is a picture I did a long time ago, I’ve always thought of Matthew as a star in heaven. The quote is from the book, “The Little Prince”.

“People have stars, but they aren’t the same. For travelers, the stars are guides. For other people, they’re nothing but tiny lights. And for still others, for scholars, they’re problems. But all those stars are silent stars. You, though, you’ll have stars like nobody else. When you look up at the sky at night, since I’ll be living on one of them, since I’ll be laughing on one of them, for you, it’ll be as if all the stars are laughing. You’ll have stars that can laugh! And when you’re consoled (everyone is eventually consoled), you’ll be glad you’ve known me. You’ll feel like laughing with me. And you’ll open your windows sometimes just for the fun of it… And your friends will be amazed to see you laughing while you’re looking up at the sky. Then you’ll tell them, ‘Yes, it’s the stars. They always make me laugh!”

The next picture is of the star Kelly got for Matthew for his second birthday.

Happy 2nd Birthday Matthew
Im so happy we share the same sign.
You shine brightly in the sky and are
Always in my heart.
Love you and miss you
Aunt Kelly

The last picture is what many of us have used to remember Matthew- kinda like a logo. The saying is from Jimmy Buffett, “Boats to Build”
Shores distant shores, There’s where I’m headed for
Got the stars to guide my way, Sail into the light of day.

star2 (211k image)

The second page is a quote Kay C. liked and wanted in the album. It is from Jimmy Buffett’s, “A Salty Piece of Land”.

Grief is like the wake behind a boat. It starts off as a huge wave that follows close behind you and is big enough to swamp and drown you if you suddenly stop moving forward. But if you do keep moving, the big wake will eventually dissipate. And after a long enough time, the waters of your life get calm again, and that is when the memories of those who have left begin to shine as bright and as enduring as the stars above.”

We miss you Matthew and our prayers are with your mommy, daddy and sister today as their hearts are heavy and sad because they miss you so much. Forever in our hearts you will shine like the stars in the sky.

Family News Great Quotes Scrapbooking

I submitted a two-page layout that I scrapbooked of our New Orleans trip to my favorite scrapbooking site,, for a contest about vehicle-related pages. I uploaded it yesterday and today I was surprised to find out that it got “Layout of the Day”! Yippee! If you get LO of the week you get a $20 gift certificate, and if I win the contest, I win a $25 gift certificate. So far so good! People like it! If you want to see, go to their site and scroll all the way down to the bottom to see it. It will probably only be there today, but you can also go here to see it. I am excited!

I spoke with a few family members this weekend about scrapbooking (my new obsession) and it seems that there is a little interest. So I thought I would post my favorite site: It is set up like a blog where people can upload their layout ideas and make comments. I joined and have really enjoyed using it as a resource for layout ideas. After you enter the site, go to the gallery and that’s where you can start to look at the layouts. Some are out of this world! It’s a great resource to bookmark and utilize.
