Tonight in class we had a Mexican family in- they are illegal- the process to become legal is mind boggling. They have applied- they have done no “underground” tactics (buying SS#’s) they work 12-14 hour days- own their home, own two cars (that they can’t drive legally- no SS#’s) can’t have a checking account but do pay taxes! When their paperwork finally goes through- they pay a $5000.00 fine for being illegal before they become legal. So far it has taken 12 years and things look slow because of 9-11. The women cried in class because she would like to she her parents before they die but can’t go back there because then she can’t get back here. The difference- there they can’t own a home, they are violated by guards, they receive no education so living here in fear of being deported and missing your family is better- she says it is for her children who are US citizens. Crazy system.

PS- STILL LOOKING FOR PEOPLES LIFE CDS!
So our children can grow up…
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.
NBC’s Dawn Fratangelo (home girl)reports…Antiwar protests circle the globe
“We must be the change we wish to see in this world” I want mine to be of peace.
Darian and Matty are celebrating their dad’s birthday today- hope you have a great time!
Peace Today- No War in Iraq…many are saying it- our vets, the rest of the world, and many others…Bush turns a blind eye (An eye for an eye leaves the world blind!)
“Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind…War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today.”
— John F. Kennedy
Say a prayer today for the ones who will give their lives- the people and children of Iraq, our armed forces and all the people who die from another attack on our soil.
Today is Bob’s birthday- he will be going to Flordia to celebrate so send your wishes south or east or north depending where you live! Happy Birthday Bob- ENJOY (take in some sun for me and maybe a drink or two).
Way # 4 Tasting the mango by giving it away
The day was “Somasha Tahtee”- loosely translated it means “Day to Honor Abundance Everywhere”. The people gathered and not one mango picked on Somasha Tahtee is consumed by the islanders. Every mango is given away.No one ate anything until the coming sunrise as a symbolic act of faith in Sister Earth, for they knew that again tomorrow She would bestow more of her abundance for all to enjoy and share.
Bush disregards the Popes request for peace!
Before you read further- remember- I served in the military- I believe in America- I believe in defending my country. I don’t believe in bullying the world in to submission of our beliefs, of killing our children because the world doesn’t move to your every demand or because you want to avenge your father. I believe in peace (as does everyone in the world but Bush & Blair)
Erin posted this on the Culver site- since it relects my opinion (maybe not exactly but a lot like how I feel I thought I would share – even though I know most of my family doesn’t think this way).
America’s unprecedented power scares the world, and the Bush administration has only made it worse. How we got here—and what we can do about it now.
A sad day when we tell every other nation- we don’t care what you think- we are going to war…most of us don’t even know why (Saddam Hussein and Sept. 11 are not one in the same) and if you stand up against it, you are blacklisted or boycotted (the Dixie Chicks or the use of the word “French”).
Does America no longer stand for freedom (of thought, of speech, of belief)?
Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day! For info on this holiday…click more…
It’s been awhile since some of us have seen Delaney- her smile and how big she is getting so when mommy Kay sent photos- we had to post. What a beauty!
Way #2 The Smiling Way and Way # 3 Eating Mango while singing The world spins. Souls enter and depart. Overwhelming, mysterious.Sometimes one can become so serious about mysterious. Serious is fine but try to smile when serious. The more serious, the bigger the smile. Eat a mango while smiling.
“When the body dies and my soul set free, this tree will make a meal of me. A perfect circle as any can be as I eat the mango to feed the tree, to eat the mango to feed the tree.” Laugh, dance and eat a mango while singing.
(Please remember there is more to the story- these are the highlights which seem to get lost without the whole story- but I’m going to share them anyway)
I recently discovered the mango- and love them. I have also read the book- seventeen ways to eat a mango- love it. It appears to be out of print so I thought I would share.
Way #1- Eat the Mango where the sky begins. One way can be learned by starting to see the magic in everything. Sometimes it seems to be hiding but it is always there. The more we can see the magic in one thing, he more we are able to see the magic in everything and in everyone. Practice seeing miracles everywhere… where does the mango stop and the sky begin?
Well one of the top front ones is now out and he is talking funny! It is so cute- so this is tooth #3! And it’s already lost… he put it under jis pillow right away and he inadvertently pulled his pillow out a couple of hours later and we cannot find it! but the tooth fairy Gabriel came anyway.
