First off congratulations to Kristen, I am very proud of you. It is about the time those ignorant people t IR realized how important you are to the organization.

I am sorry I have not been on this site in awhile, but I have been consulting for the government the last few weeks and my time has been completely bogged down.

It did pay off, though, on Friday I landed the largest order that my company has gotten in Jacksonville in over twn years!! With the US Navy I received a contract for over $300,000. To put it in perspective, the gentleman I replaced sold $250,000 all of last year!

I jus wanted to pass on the good news as it has resulted in a lot of compliments and votes of confidence that I am being considered “the solution” to all of the problems that my company has had in Jacksonville.

To all of you who sometimes think that it is impossible to get ahead without being corrupt, this is proof that you can make it by working hard!

“I wish you could have been there for the sun & the rain & the long, hard hills. For the sound of a thousand conversations scattered along the road. For the people laughing & crying & remembering at the end. But, mainly, I wish you could have been there.” Brian Andreas

Hard to believe that 32 years ago mama died. Each day I miss her more and the void she left never seems to diminish or fade. I loved this lady and wish she could be here.

“Breaking the Hold of Routine”

The “comfort zones” of life are defined in large measure by our habits. Question the living patterns of your week. How much of your time is spent mundanely because you are too lazy to do something different? Are you learning from each day? Does each day hold any special significance? Prioritize the things that fulfil you most. Build them into the pattern.

“Every moment of your life is infinitely creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful”

Life is a constant process of creation and we will only be truly fulfilled and happy when our creativity is allowed to express itself.
Today- cook a meal, redecorate a room, take a picture, paint, plant a garden, sing a song (even if it is off key) Just have some fun some where in your day. Don’t forget to smile!

“Wherever you go, there you are”
We tend to believe that if we were somewhere else- somehow we would be happier and more content. We wouldn’t! The truth is, if you have destructive mental habits- if you get annoyed or bothered easily, if you feel angry and frustrated, or if you find yourself constantly wishing things were different, these tendencies will follow you, wherever you go. As you focus more on becoming more peaceful with where you are, rather than focusing on where you would rather be, you begin to find peace right now, in the present.

“Keep a sane pace.”
Today, more than ever, many of us live at a pace that can only be described as “crazy”. In addition to the incredible demands of simply getting by, earning a living, raising a family, and attending to our daily responsibilities, many of also attempt to partake in recreational activities and other ventures. The problem is, each of us only has twenty-four hours in a day. There is only so much we can do.

Keeping a sane pace does more than keep us sane. It brings richness to our experience that is impossible to experience when we are rushing around too quickly. There is something magical about having a little space between activities, a sense of calm, of having enough time.

I think you’ll find that if you can slow down, even slightly, the quality of your life will be enhanced in many ways.

Well today is dad/ {{popup dad-5ish.JPG dad-5ish 397×599}}Poppy’s birthday- everyone remember to give him a call. Hard to believe he is 29!

“Remember that everything has God’s fingerprints on it.”
It’s easy to see God’s beauty in a beautiful sunrise, snow-capped mountain, the smile of a healthy child, or ocean waves crashing on a sandy beach. But can we learn to find holiness in seemingly ugly circumstances-difficult life lessons, a family tragedy, or life struggle?

Somewhere, in the back of your mind, try to remember that everything has God’s fingerprints on it. The fact that we can’t see the beauty in something doesn’t suggest that it’s not there. Rather, it suggests that we are not looking carefully enough or with a broad enough perspective to see it!

Today we had our convocation and the guest speaker was Jackie Pflug. As the article says- she was on board a hijacked airplane-shot in the head and left for dead only she didn’t die- her message was powerful and moving. I thanked God for the good fortune in my life- the health and well being of all my family, blessings beyond compare (healthy children, many children, love and laughter, successes and lots of wonderful memories) and it made you think about all the little things that bend us out of shape that really have no significance but seem to at the time. So today I make a commitment in my life to stop sweating the small stuff and I challenge all of you to do the same.

“Remind yourself that when you die, your “in basket” won’t be empty” -The purpose of life isn’t to get it all done but to enjoy each step along the way and live a life filled with love. Don’t waste any more precious moments of your life regretting the inevitable.
