Another Diet Idea…

My boss is very involved in her book “Eat Right for your Type: The Individualized Diet solution to Staying Healthy, Living Longer & Achieving your Ideal Weight” and I thought it was very interesting what she was talking about. Here is part of the blurb off of the back:

If your blood type is 0:
• Eat meat (high protein, low carbohydrate).
• Cut out wheat and most other grains.
• Engage in vigorous aerobic exercise.
• Your risk factors for ulcers and inflammatory diseases such as arthritis increase if you eat
incorrectly for your type.

If your blood type is A:
• You should be a vegetarian (high carbohydrate, low fat).
• Engage in gentle exercise such as yoga or golf.
• Meditate to deal with stress.
• Your risk factors for cancer and heart disease increase if you eat incorrectly for your type.

If your blood type is B:
• You should have the most varied diet of all the blood types, one including meat; yours is
the only blood type that does well with dairy products.
• Engage in exercise such as moderate swimming or walking.
• Your risk for slow-growing viruses that attack the nervous system increases if you eat
incorrectly for your type.

If your blood type is AB:
• You have most of the benefits and intolerances of types A and B.
• Engage in calming exercises and relaxation techniques.
• You have the friendliest immune system of all the blood types.

OK, I am A- and carbs are not good for me nor gentle excersize! I need to learn to walk and then run!

The meat part sounds good as i usually eat small meat portions but i eat way too many carbs and like the pasta and casseroles way too much!

I’m not sure how much of that I believe for my type. I’m A+, but carbs do not react well with me. When I eat a lot of carbs (mostly the white, refined ones) I feel lousy… tired, gasy, bloated… just yucky. I feel better when I eat the wheat based ones or brown rice. In fact, when I was having those headaches and dizzy spells, my doc told me a probably needed more protein b/c I don’t eat a lot of meat. We still do not know what caused the spells – we thought it was hypoglycemia but tests proved me and the doctor wrong. Lately I have not had them, but we were wondering if they might have been either panic or anxiety attacks – who knows. The jury is still out…

I don’t think gentle exercise will help me- I wasn’t gentle putting it on though I might add I have cut down (way down) on my meat. We have pretty much been doing fruits and veggies the past two weeks. Linda went to the chiropractor a week ago and she told her to eat meat (high carb- she is O). There is always something out there- what is a person to eat- things in moderation!
