Last year I turned 50 and made a goal to lose 50 pounds in each of the next three years. I did not hit the mark in year one but I made good gains (-30), more importantly, I started. This year we move forward for 50 again. I decided I wanted to add a few goals:
- Make more meals at home using the spices, tools and cookbooks I already own
- Continue to exercise every day (treadmill is back in the house)
- Get more sleep
- Get back into Yoga
- Be more creative (journal, photography, knit, scrapbook)
- Reconnect with my faith
- Have more fun
- Get back to handwritten messages instead of e-mail or blogs (cards, letters, postcards)
- Learn what is mine to do in the world – and, more importantly – what is NOT mine to do.
What goals have you set for yourself?
Mine were similar, and some the same as last year.
– get married, probably the most important
– Read one book per month (last year I read over 20)
– Get into shape again, so we are back at the gym 3-4 times a week
– Better eating/nutrition and I’m exploring vegetarianism and eating more raw
– Green smoothies… nearly every day
– Learn where my food comes from (industry/gov’t do scary things to your food) – I have a farm tour at my CSA Feb 20 that I want to go to
– Join the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) for organic, fresh produce, eggs, and meat (for David)
– Continue to drop the use of plastic bags and use my reusable ones, as well as water bottles!
– After reading Julie/Julia I wanted to make at least one recipe a week out of my cookbooks, which is going well so far
– Knit myself a sweater b/c I have always wanted to
